The Posttrauma Risky Behaviors Questionnaire (PRBQ) was developed as a comprehensive, yet brief assessment of the extent of engaging in posttrauma reckless and self-destructive behaviors (RSDBs). Extending upon the initial psychometric investigation of the PRBQ, the current study details a preliminary investigation of measurement (non)-invariance across trauma types (i.e., interpersonal vs. non-interpersonal) and count (i.e., singular vs. multiple) in a sample of 1,174 trauma-exposed undergraduates. Confirmatory factor analysis supported the unidimensional measurement model in the overall sample and trauma subgroups. Further, the RSDB construct evaluated by the PRBQ demonstrated configural, metric (ΔCFI = .008), and scalar invariance (ΔCFI = .009) across subgroups indexing non-interpersonal versus interpersonal trauma, and configural, partial metric (ΔCFI = .009), and scalar invariance (ΔCFI = .009) across subgroups reporting singular versus multiple trauma types. Findings indicate equivalence of the PRBQ-assessed RSDB construct across subgroups differentiated by interpersonal vs. non-interpersonal trauma types, but not count of trauma types.
