The 51Π state in RbCs examined in a polarisation labelling spectroscopy experiment

Abstract:
Polarisation labelling spectroscopy technique is used to select and simplify the absorption spectrum of RbCs molecule in the mixed vapours of rubidium and caesium. The excited electronic state 51Π located at Te=21744.72 cm-1 above the minimum of the ground X state is investigated. Based on spectra of the 51Π← X1Σ+ band system observed under rotational resolution, accurate molecular constants describing the 51Π state are derived for the levels v'≤57, J'=49-103, and the potential energy curve is constructed by the inverted perturbation approach method.
