ADVANCE-ID (ADVancing Clinical Evidence in Infectious Diseases) is a clinical trials network comprising more than 100 hospitals across Asia, with additional research sites planned for Africa, the Middle East, and Latin America. The mission of ADVANCE-ID is to conduct high-quality clinical trials that have a global impact on the management of infection. More than 12 000 patients have been enrolled since 2022 in ADVANCE-ID studies. A key aim of ADVANCE-ID is to create evidence from randomized controlled trials to improve treatment, diagnostics, and prevention strategies of serious infections resulting from antimicrobial-resistant bacterial infections. Alongside this, ADVANCE-ID has a commitment to advocate for access to antibiotics and diagnostics for which evidence exists for their use in low- and middle-income countries.
