Background:

The training of psychoanalysts faces ongoing challenges regarding the integration of teleanalysis.
The International Psychoanalytical Association (IPA) is actively debating the role and methods of teleanalysis in training.
A systematic research project was initiated by the IPA Board, involving the Research Committee (RC).

Purpose of the Study:

To investigate the integration of teleanalysis into psychoanalytic training through systematic research.
To explore the application of action research (AR) in resolving institutional conflicts within psychoanalysis.
To facilitate discussion and critical reflection on teleanalysis in psychoanalytic education.

Main Methods:

An action research (AR) project was proposed and conducted.
AR emphasizes facilitated exchange between polarizing groups to gain insights.
The first AR cycle occurred at the IPA Congress in Lisbon, followed by expert validation of findings.

Main Results:

The action research project successfully engaged participants in discussing teleanalysis in psychoanalytic training.
