This paper investigates the influence of reaction temperature on the particle size distributions of Molybdenum disulfide quantum dots (MoS2QDs) synthesized via hydrothermal methods and interprets the findings through numerical simulations based on Fick's second law of diffusion. The experimental results show that increasing the synthesis temperature leads to smaller and more uniform QDs, which aligns with enhanced solvent diffusion dynamics and faster growth kinetics. Simulations reproduce these trends, showing that diffusion-driven growth dynamics capture the essential temperature dependence of QD formation. The combined experimental-theoretical approach provides mechanistic insight into the role of diffusion inMoS2QD synthesis and offers a predictive framework for tailoring QD dimensions through rational control of hydrothermal conditions.
