Functionalization of inorganic nanoparticles with peptides to cross the blood brain barrier: In vivo evaluation

General aspects of inorganic nanoparticles combined with peptide brain shuttles used as nanocarriers, theranostic - referred to as systems capable of providing diagnosis and therapy simultaneously-, and diagnostic agents for treating CNS-related disorders are reviewed. Furthermore, in vivo studies performed with the mentioned nanoplatforms to evaluate the crossing of the conjugates are discussed in detail.
