Abstract:
Minimally invasive and robotic gastrectomy have become integral components of contemporary gastric cancer management, supported by evidence demonstrating oncologic safety and faster postoperative recovery. Advances in multimodality treatment have improved outcomes for locally advanced gastric cancer. Adequate minimally invasive gastrectomy requires precise anatomic understanding, rigorous patient selection, and adherence to standardized D2 lymphadenectomy principles. Technical considerations include optimized port placement, safe lymph node dissection, and tailored reconstruction based on resection extent. Enhanced recovery protocols, nutritional monitoring, and structured follow-up are critical for long-term survivorship. Overall, evolving technology and thoughtful program implementation continue to expand the role of minimally invasive gastrectomy.
