Minimally Invasive/Robotic Surgery for Colorectal Liver Metastasis

Colorectal liver metastases (CRLM) are common and potentially curable with complete resection. This article reviews contemporary minimally invasive (laparoscopic and robotic) strategies for CRLM, emphasizing multidisciplinary decision-making, patient selection, and peri-operative planning. It outlines key imaging and functional assessments and operative approaches ranging from parenchymal-sparing resections to complex posterosuperior segmentectomy and two-stage hepatectomy. The article also discusses adjunctive ablation and hepatic arterial infusion pump chemotherapy as integrated liver-directed therapies.
