This article describes a humanitarian teaching mission dedicated to managing complex posterior perineal injuries in Burundi. These conditions, which result from prolonged labor in low-resource settings, may lead to fecal incontinence, causing social exclusion and loss of dignity. Through the perspective of medical students, this article offers an exploratory view of these pathologies and the model of knowledge transfer, highlighting the importance of sharing skills with the next generation of healthcare professionals. Beyond technical expertise, this approach aims to restore patients' dignity and to ensure sustainable, holistic training by empowering local practitioners.
