Phenol Red Thread-based Sampling Procedure for Untargeted Tear Fluid Lipidomics in Biomarker Discovery

  • Primary outcome: number and volume of new ischemic lesions on diffusion-weighted imaging within 48 hours postprocedure.
  • Main Results:

    • Adjunctive tirofiban significantly reduced the median volume of new infarcts (48.6 vs 88.2 mm³, P=0.007) and showed a trend towards fewer new infarction lesions (P=0.046).
    • No significant differences were observed in symptomatic stroke, intracranial hemorrhage, or major bleeding rates between groups at 48 hours or 30 days.

    Conclusions:

    • Prophylactic intravenous tirofiban, when combined with dual antiplatelet therapy, effectively reduces new postoperative infarct lesions.
    • The treatment was found to be safe, with no increase in hemorrhagic complications or mortality.
    • Further validation in large-scale, multicenter trials is recommended.
