Bilateral Impacted Deciduous Maxillary Central Incisors: Case Report and Review of Literature

Abstract:
Impaction of deciduous teeth is a rare finding, and its bilateral occurrence is further rare. Among the first generation of teeth, second molar is the most commonly impacted tooth. We hereby present a rare case of a 5-year-old child with bilateral impacted inverted dilacerated maxillary deciduous central incisors, which has not been previously reported in the literature. Management techniques of impacted primary teeth include observation, removal of obstruction and follow-up, surgical exposure or repositioning with or without orthodontic traction, and extraction of primary teeth followed by space maintainers. Surgical extraction of the impacted deciduous incisors was done in the present case, as there were bleak chances of spontaneous eruption. The patient was followed up to monitor the eruption of succedaneous permanent teeth.
