Abstract:
We describe a case of fluctuating ataxia in a 37-year-old man. Workup demonstrated multiple brainstem and cerebellar lesions, cerebellar atrophy, and CSF lymphocytic pleocytosis with oligoclonal bands. Ten months after symptom onset, the patient developed a mesial temporal lobe abnormality and had a first-time seizure, prompting additional workup that revealed a diagnosis.
