Abstract:
A novel two-dimensional metal-organic framework (2D MOF), 2D Co-MOF@MnO2, with oxidase-like activity was successfully prepared via a solvothermal method, and its mimetic oxidase-like activity was investigated in detail. Its kinetic parameters Km and Vmax were determined to be 0.048 mM and 5.897 × 10- 7 Ms- 1, respectively. Taking advantage of the material's ability to catalyze the oxidation of 3,3',5,5'-tetramethylbenzidine (TMB) and the inhibitory effect of uric acid (UA) on this oxidase-like activity, we designed and constructed a portable colorimetric sensing device for the rapid detection of UA. This device enabled UA detection within 3 min at room temperature. The proposed system showed a linear response in the concentration range 5-200 µM with a detection limit of 4.98 µM, which was comparable to or even better than several previously reported colorimetric methods. This proof-of-concept study presented a novel and efficient approach that had potential for future point-of-care (POCT) applications for uric acid detection, and may offer new insights into early disease diagnosis, health monitoring, and biomedical research.
