Abstract:
This protocol reviews the recognition and management of allergic reactions and anaphylaxis during interventional pain procedures. It describes the spectrum of hypersensitivity reactions, ranging from mild dermatologic symptoms to life-threatening multisystem anaphylaxis with airway compromise and cardiovascular collapse. Emphasis is placed on early recognition, immediate epinephrine administration, airway stabilization, intravenous fluid resuscitation, and transfer to higher-level care.
