Digital service innovation through data assetization: Enhancing supply chain resilience for corporate green

Abstract:
Under the framework of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), leveraging Digital Service Innovation (DSI) to drive green transformation through supply chain collaboration has become a crucial pathway for building new momentum in sustainable development. This study conceptualizes data assetization, which covers aggregation, processing, application, and transaction, as a foundational organizational process of DSI that enables service-oriented value creation from data resources. Based on data from A-share listed companies between 2013 and 2023, this paper identifies the impact pathways of data assetization on corporate green transformation from the perspective of supply chain resilience. The empirical results reveal that downstream firms' data assetization significantly enhances the green transformation of upstream partners, indirectly promoting green transformation by strengthening supply chain recovery capability, mitigating supply chain risk, and improving supply chain transparency. Among the four stages of aggregation, processing, application, and transaction, data aggregation has the most significant marginal contribution, while the transaction stage demonstrates a stronger value signal effect. Heterogeneity tests further show that the effect depends on specific upstream-downstream structural combinations rather than on a single industry type in isolation.
