The right to a healthy environment, expressly recognized in inter-American human rights law system, has been developed in depth in the advisory opinion OC-32/25 of May 29, 2025 on climate change, in which the Inter-American Court of Human Rights has established a series of obligations for States, especially based on the principles of prevention and precaution.
