Abstract:
The development of acaricides with novel modes of action is of great significance for sustainable mite management, resistance mitigation, and long-term agricultural development. Succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) has recently emerged as a promising target for acaricide discovery, leading to the development of several key SDHI acaricides, including cyflumetofen, cyenopyrafen, cyetpyrafen, and pyflubumide. This review systematically summarizes the discovery and development of SDHI acaricides and current knowledge on metabolic and target-site mutation resistance mechanisms, as well as the potential toxicity toward nontarget organisms. These insights are expected to provide valuable guidance for the rational design of next-generation acaricides and practical application in environmentally friendly mite management.
