Cetuximab-induced Facial Hypertrichosis in a Woman Treated for Metastatic Colon Adenocarcinoma

Abstract:
The use of anti-epidermal growth factor receptor antibodies, such as cetuximab, is a standard part of the management of metastatic colorectal and head and neck cancers, as they inhibit tumor proliferation. Their side effects include cutaneous complications such as skin rash, hypertrichosis, and male pattern alopecia. We report a case of a middle-aged woman who developed hypertrichosis following six cycles of cetuximab treatment with a hirsutism-related hormone profile.
