Abstract:
In this study, we present new distributional records for 37 species of the subfamily Ichneumoninae (Hymenoptera, Ichneumonidae) collected on the Ryukyu Islands. Three species, Bystra kusukusensis (Uchida, 1929), Lissosculpta glaucosignata (Heinrich, 1930) and Notoplatylabus podolicus Heinrich 1936 are newly reported from Japan. Eight species and one subspecies are new to science: Aethecerus albicoxalis sp. nov., Alystria albolineatasp. nov., Barichneumon nipponicus sp. nov., Cratichneumon variator sp. nov., Cratichneumon variator kijimuna ssp. nov., Heresiarches japonicussp. nov., Stenaoplus yakushimaesp. nov., Stenobarichneumon nigritorsp. nov., Vulgichneumon okinawaesp. nov.Aglaojoppa arakawai Uchida, 1925 is transferred to Virgichneumon. Aglaojoppa fuscata Uchida, 1925 and Melanichneumon tosaensis Uchida, 1935 are new synonyms of Virgichneumon arakawai (Uchida). Cratichneumon amamioshimensis Uchida, 1956 is transferred to Vulgichneumon (comb. nov.) and Vulgichneumon uchidai Momoi, 1970 is a new synonym of Vulgichneumon amamioshimensis (Uchida, 1956). All new species and subspecies are described in detail and illustrated. For the other species, some additional taxonomical information are given.
