Developing absorption-dominated electromagnetic interference (EMI) shielding materials with controllable architectures presents a promising approach to mitigating electromagnetic pollution. To advance high-performance absorption-dominated EMI shielding with ultrabroad bandwidth characteristics, we utilize computation-aided design and controllable sequential multi-coating assembly to produce integrated multilayer MXene-coated polyethylene terephthalate (PET) (M-MX-PET) films for ultra-broadband absorption-dominated EMI Shielding applications. The multilayered architectures integrate thickness-optimized PET dielectric substrates and sheet resistance-controlled MXene films through a spin-coating process. The M-MX-PET configuration achieves exceptional broadband (2.16-18 GHz) absorption-dominated performance (EMI shielding effectiveness of 33.8 dB), while demonstrating excellent absorption properties through a minimum reflection loss of -29.5 dB and 13.95 GHz effective absorption bandwidth (reflection loss < -10 dB). The M-MX-PET films also show outstanding Joule heating performance (T = 103 °C at 20 V), demonstrating the potential multifunctional applications. This work provides fundamental insights and technical guidelines for designing next-generation electromagnetic protection materials with a tailored wave absorption-shielding balance.
