Abstract:
Screening of Indonesian microbial extracts identified Cosmospora sp. BioMCC-f.T-7332 as a source of Mycobacterium tuberculosis shikimate kinase (MtSK) inhibitors. A mixture of alkylated glycodidepsides TPI-1 and TPI-2 was obtained as the inhibitor (IC50 = 1.5 µg/mL) with low cytotoxicity. Although improvements in cell permeability are necessary, didepsides may serve as starting points for the development of antitubercular agents targeting MtSK.
