Objective:
This report presents a multidisciplinary approach for timely and effective rehabilitation of a patient with bilateral maxillary defects, incorporating sequential obturator prostheses, orofacial myofunctional therapy, and multi-dimensional functional assessments, with a 10-year follow-up.
Clinical Consideration:
Rehabilitation following extensive maxillectomy requires coordinated interdisciplinary care. The sequential use of obturator prostheses eliminates the "cavity period", enabling early restoration of oral functions and preservation of facial morphology. Orofacial myofunctional therapy assists in preventing postoperative trismus and improving adaptation to obturator prostheses. Multi-dimensional functional assessments offer a structured framework to monitor and enhance rehabilitation outcomes.
Conclusion:
