Unraveling the Unexpected: A Rare Trichobezoar Case in a Male Child

Bezoars are masses that form due to the accumulation of foreign materials in the gastrointestinal tract. They are categorized into four main types: phytobezoars, trichobezoars, lactobezoars, and pharmacobezoars. Trichobezoars, typically associated with psychiatric disorders such as trichotillomania and trichophagia, are predominantly reported in young females and are rarely seen in males. This report discusses a rare case of gastric trichobezoar in a male child and is supported by a review of the current literature.
