Design, make, test, play: a game for medicinal chemistry outreach

Communication of science to the wider public is of great importance to ensure both general trust in science and the inspiration of the next generation of scientists. Medicinal chemistry is a complex discipline involving many concepts from multiple areas of science. In this article we describe our efforts to communicate some of the key challenges of medicinal chemistry, particularly iterative optimisation of multiple parameters, in a way that is broadly accessible and, through gamification, engaging.
