Abstract:
A coordination-driven crystallization strategy using H2BPDC achieved highly selective Th(IV)/Zr(IV) separation by exploiting their distinct Lewis acidity and coordination preferences, delivering a separation factor up to 6017. This work highlights crystallization as an effective approach for separating chemically similar tetravalent metal ions, with potential applications in zirconium purification and thorium decontamination.
