Summary
Newly detected hepatic lesions in patients on CDK4/6 inhibitors like ribociclib may be benign focal nodular hyperplasia (FNH)-like changes, not metastasis. Biopsy confirmation is key to avoid interrupting effective cancer treatment.
Area of Science:
- Oncology
- Hepatology
- Radiology
Background:
- Focal nodular hyperplasia (FNH)-like lesions mimicking metastasis are rare complications of cytotoxic chemotherapy.
- These lesions have not been previously described with CDK4/6 inhibitors alone.
