A 41-year-old man without any medical history presents to the emergency department with acute, episodic palpitations. Initial work-up with laboratory testing yielded negative results. Electrocardiography revealed sinus rhythm with intermittent pre-excitation. The patient was discharged home with follow-up.
Take-Home Message:
Intermittent pre-excitation still carries risk, often leading to consideration of an electrophysiological study to determine the presence of clinically significant anterograde conduction properties.
