[Infiltrating basal cell carcinoma with perineural growth in a 15-year-old]

Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is rare in children without genetic predisposition. In this case report, a 15-year-old boy with BCC and perineural invasion on the cheek is presented. The tumour was surgically excised with subsequent re-excision to achieve clear margins. Genetic testing revealed no pathogenic variants. Due to young age and potential long-term morbidity, adjuvant radiotherapy was not recommended after international consultation. This case highlights the need to include skin cancer in the differential diagnosis of persistent skin lesions in young patients and the importance of multidisciplinary management.
