Abstract:
Some radioisotopes have γ-energies and half-lives appropriate for use in medical applications. It is important to study the possible ways to produce some selected isotopes of Ru, like 97Ru and 95Ru, through nuclear reactions of α-particle with Mo targets, like 94Mo(α,n), 95Mo(α,2n), 96Mo(α,3n), 97Mo(α,4n),98Mo(α,5n) and natMo(α,xn) for 97Ru, as well as 92Mo(α,n) and 94Mo(α,3n) for 95Ru. In this work, a comparative study of different production routes was carried out and weighted averages excitation functions were given. TALYS 2.0 and EMPIRE-3.2.3 codes were used to obtain the theoretical estimations for these excitation functions, for comparison. The TTY was also calculated for these reactions with respect to energy and target thickness range.

While fluorine-19 and phosphorous-31 have high natural abundances (100%) and positive gyromagnetic ratios, nitrogen-15 has a low natural abundance and a negative gyromagnetic ratio. However, nitrogen-15 is still preferred over nitrogen-14 (which has a high...
