The people behind the papers - Allan Spradling and Wayne (Yunpeng) Fu
None:
In most species, ovarian follicles are thought to develop using a single pathway. However, in their study, Allan Spradling and Wayne (Yunpeng) Fu show that female Drosophila primordial germ cells (PGCs) give rise to three distinct follicular waves, which closely resemble the three waves of mouse follicles, during early ovarian development. To learn more about their work, we talked to the first author Wayne (Yunpeng) Fu, as well as the corresponding author, Allan Spradling, Principal Investigator at the Carnegie Institution for Science and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, USA.
