1Associate professor, Department of History/University of Warwick. Warwick - United Kingdom. j.poskett@warwick.ac.uk.
Abstract:
In responding to the historiographic review of Horizons: a global history of science, I address three core themes. First, the problem of "modern science." Second, the nature of power in global history. Third, the importance of doing the history of science in public. I conclude by reflecting on the different cultures of public history in different parts of the world, as well as the challenge this poses.
