Abstract:
This study assessed the pushout force of four different attachment pickup materials on three denture bases made by conventional heat-curing, subtractive and additive manufacturing techniques. A total of 120 specimens were prepared (10/group). A plate size of 25×25×5 mm3 and central hole. Four attachment pickup materials were applied following the manufacturer's instructions. The specimens were thermocycled 10,000 cycles at 5ºC and 55ºC. An axial pushout test was conducted utilizing a universal testing machine. Data were analyzed using two-way ANOVA and Bonferroni post-hoc tests. Self-cured acrylic resin pickup material exhibited the highest pushout force for heat-cured and milled denture bases (p<0.05). The 3D-printed denture base exhibited the highest pushout force to resin composite with adhesive (p<0.05). 3D-printed denture bases use a resin composite with adhesive show significantly highest pushout force. Meanwhile, heat-cured and milled denture bases prefer self-cured acrylic resin as an attachment pickup material.
