Abstract:
This chapter presents methods for synthesizing gamma peptide nucleic acid (γPNA) monomers and oligomers with lysine side chains bearing orthogonal Alloc-protecting groups. These protecting groups can be selectively removed under mild conditions on resin, enabling site-specific functionalization with diverse chemical groups. This approach streamlines synthesis, preserves the structural integrity of γPNA, and broadens its potential applications in biomedical research and development.
