Abstract:
Despite the phloem's crucial role in carbohydrate translocation and its high vulnerability due to its position just beneath the bark, studies directly addressing fire effects on phloem remain very limited. Thus, this chapter aims to provide a concise overview of the methodologies that have been used directly or indirectly to investigate the impacts of fire on the phloem, including changes in phloem compounds, transport velocity, and phloem cell damage.
