Full Digital Workflow for Mandibular Reconstruction with Iliac Crest Bone Graft and Implant Supported Prosthesis
Abstract:
This case report describes a digitally integrated surgical and prosthetic approach for mandibular rehabilitation after ameloblastoma resection. Virtual surgical planning and patient-specific guides were used for segmental resection and immediate reconstruction of an approximately 5- cm continuity defect with a nonvascularized anterior iliac crest corticocancellous graft and a preplanned reconstruction plate. After graft incorporation, prosthetically driven implant planning, guided placement of four implants, and digital fabrication produced a titanium-supported monolithic zirconia prosthesis. At 1 year, function, speech, esthetics, and patient satisfaction were favorable. The case illustrates how digital planning can coordinate established surgical and prosthetic methods, although longer follow-up is required.
