Abstract:
Cochlear implantation is the gold standard of hearing rehabilitation for patients with severe to profound sensorineural hearing loss. Cochlear Implants (CI) are nowadays essential for these patients. Adapted to rapid developments and the resulting expansion of indications, the implantation principles have consequently been subtly refined and further developed. This overview summarizes developments that are receiving more attention and increasing application in everyday clinical practice.
