Abstract:
Conventional photoswitchable fluorescent diarylethenes rely on detrimental UV light for photocyclization. Herein, an efficient visible-light-driven photoswitchable fluorescent diarylethene was constructed by conjugating naphthalimide-ethynylene groups to a dithienylethene core. It achieves a 74.9% photocyclization yield, reversible fluorescence photoswitching with superior photobleaching resistance, and super-resolution imaging upon 405 nm irradiation.
