Abstract:
The immune response to Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) infection leverages the interferon system. In this issue of Cell Host & Microbe, Fattinger and colleagues1 provide compelling evidence for a previously suspected antagonism of type I interferons and interferon-γ as an important determinant of susceptibility against Mtb infection.
