Abstract:
Vitamins play a vital role in organic transformations, particularly in the field of organocatalysis. Vitamins have been found to function as photoredox catalysts in an array of synthetic processes, supporting advancements in the realm of photocatalysis over the past few decades. Several applications of vitamins as photoredox catalysts are covered in this article. Furthermore, the mechanistic aspects that provide insights into the functions of vitamins in significant chemical transformations are thoroughly discussed, offering an understanding of reaction pathways and strengthening the applications of vitamins in organocatalysis methods.
