GCCG 'Diagnostics' Case Report - Diagnostics Clinical Workflow of Fully Edentulous Maxilla
Abstract:
The first Global Consensus for Clinical Guidelines (GCCG) was developed for rehabilitation of the edentulous maxilla and published in February 2026. This case report describes a systematic approach to collecting clinical intra oral, extra oral and radiographic data necessary for diagnosis prior to implant treatment planning for full-arch maxillary rehabilitation. Digital analysis is now possible working with a good digital laboratory when high-quality clinical data are collected in collaboration with a skilled digital laboratory. A facially generated esthetic assessment can be performed using digital analysis to support subsequent dental implant planning. This allows for shared decision making between clinician and patient for the final treatment and restorative plan. This report is based on the proceedings of the first global consensus for clinical guidelines on 'Diagnostics' for treatment of edentulous maxilla.
