Objectives:
This is a protocol for a Cochrane review (intervention). The objectives are as follows: To assess the effects of different laboratory monitoring strategies for treatment efficacy (lipid levels) and treatment safety (hepatic, muscular, and renal parameters) in adults eligible for or receiving pharmacological lipid-lowering therapy for primary and/or secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease, including whether such monitoring is performed and the frequency or timing with which it is repeated.
