Multiplexed molecular imaging for spatial transcriptomics and proteomics

Abstract:
Spatial biology addresses a fundamental question of how individual biomolecules work together to create complex organisms. One of its major tasks is to localize diverse molecular targets in their native environment. Here we review latest technologies that enable high-throughput, multiplexed, molecular imaging of transcripts and proteins in biological samples. This review focuses on the evolving forefront of multiplexed imaging developed for biomedical research, encompassing a wide range of labeling strategies. We believe that this field has abundant opportunities for multidisciplinary innovations toward spatial omics at single-molecule resolution.
