Abstract:
Frailty in children with chronic kidney disease remains poorly recognized compared with adults and manifests differently, as loss of developmental potential rather than functional decline. In this commentary, we highlight that pediatric frailty should be identified early through standardized, age-appropriate screening, enabling timely multidisciplinary intervention. Crucially, unlike in adults, childhood frailty may be reversible, offering a vital window to maximize developmental and growth potential, build resilience, and restore a near-normal childhood.
