Abstract:
This article provides an overview of radiographic interpretation in small animal musculoskeletal disease, emphasizing that imaging findings must always be interpreted within the clinical context and with a structured, systematic approach. The importance of proper radiographic technique is highlighted, and the role of complementary imaging modalities is explained. A detailed discussion is dedicated to the assessment of bone lesions, including distribution, patterns of bone lysis and periosteal reaction. Osteoarthritis is reviewed through characteristic radiographic findings and grading principles. The importance of postoperative imaging and assessment of soft tissues is also described.
