Abstract:
This article presents a new Health-Aware Scheduling (H-AS) framework for transport tasks in maritime Container Terminals (CTs). Specifically, a Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) model was developed for a transport system in which Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) interact with Gantry Cranes (GCs) and Rail-Mounted Gantry Cranes (RMGCs) operated by port workers. The developed model was used to detect faults/delays in the transport system caused by insufficient technical condition of the AGVs, low battery charge levels of the AGVs, and inadequate skill and fatigue levels of the operators of the GCs and RMGCs. Knowledge of the faults enabled the design of an H-AS framework that selects AGVs, GCs, and RMGCs to complete the transport task in the shortest time.
