Abstract:
Compact, 1D monolithic barium titanate waveguide cavities are fabricated using inverse design, and transmission is characterized as a function of wavelength and applied bias. Cavity quality factors of ∼3000 are experimentally demonstrated at wavelengths of λ≈1550 nm, with spectra matching transmission modeled by the transmission matrix method supported by finite difference time domain simulations. Voltage-dependent tuning of the cavity resonance independently of, or with, the cavity stop band is demonstrated.
