Abstract:
Zhao et al.1 show that palmitate-driven ATP citrate lyase (ACLY) palmitoylation stabilizes nuclear ACLY tetramers, increases acetyl CoA production, and promotes pro-inflammatory macrophage programs. Targeting macrophage SCD1 with palmitate supplementation exploits this pathway to remodel the tumor microenvironment and suppress hepatocellular carcinoma.
