Advanced cervical cancer and its complications: a cross-sectional imaging review

Abstract:
The assessment of advanced cervical cancer and its complications on cross-sectional imaging remains challenging due to the broad range of disease manifestations, and frequently nonspecific clinical presentation. This pictorial review outlines the essential components that should be systematically addressed in radiology reports when evaluating CT and MRI studies in advanced cervical cancer. To improve diagnostic precision and clinical utility, we summarized the main cervical cancer manifestations in an algorithm to facilitate a comprehensive evaluation of local tumor extent, treatment-related/infectious complications, urinary complications, and metastatic spread, serving as a practical tool for both radiologists and clinicians.
