Abstract:
Ileoileocolic intussusception can present without classic ultrasonographic target signs. A hyperattenuated inner bowel wall creating a "double-enhanced layer" on contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) may mimic viable bowel despite transmural necrosis and represents a diagnostic pitfall requiring early surgical intervention.
