Beam correction and conjugated waves
Abstract:
Full-plane conjugation of a beacon wave is the ultimate case of adaptive beam control for propagation in a random refractive medium. Here, we revisit the 40-year-old calculations [Sov. Phys. J.28, 894 (1985)SOPJAQ0038-569710.1007/BF00891733] of the mean irradiance of the beam created by a finite-aperture conjugation. We used wave optics simulations to confirm these theoretical results and discuss the implications of the effectiveness of the beacon-based beam control.
